Over There /
Migration
Digital Prints
27 x 65 inches
Two of six prints produced for a series in collaboration with my co-workers Joel Evey and Finney Smith.
Over There was created from a series of about 30 sketches made on xerox paper using mostly ink pens and brush pens. Each sketch was scanned, composited, and adjusted to fit the design.
Migration allowed me to experiment with one of Joel's techniques. Using 3D Studio Max, Joel maps drawings to the surface of 3-dimensional shapes and then hides the geometry during rendering so that only the sketch lines remain. In this case, I chose a ring and a vertically-stretched sphere. I rendered about 5 different images and composited them in Photoshop.
